Radio by and for refugees
Your story our voice. REF FM is changing that. This foundation builds radio stations in refugee camps, run by and for refugees.
The Brief
With a new visual identity comes a new website. This platform is the place where partners (funders, etc.) connect and where awareness is raised about what REF FM does.
The site had to tell the story of REF FM, stream its radio stations, and activate its growing community. The visual foundation was already there — designed by Geurt van Donkelaar. Our task was to bring it to life online.
The Answer
Strangelove designed and developed a website that is as dynamic as REF FM itself. A platform that puts listening first — to music, to news, to people. We translated the bold and clear brand identity into a user-friendly, scalable digital environment that makes space for new initiatives in countries in Africa.
Visitors can tune in to live broadcasts from the various radio stations directly through the site. Each station has its own voice — and its own story to tell. The website brings these together without flattening their individuality.
We are very proud to be part of this project. Because REF FM is more than just radio — it’s a platform, a movement, and above all, a place where people’s voices are truly heard again.
Result
A new website that brings REF FM's mission to life and makes it easy for listeners worldwide to tune in and connect with refugee communities. It strengthens REF FM's digital presence and supports their continued expansion in Africa and beyond.
