Your romance with ChatGPT

Working with ChatGPT is actually the same as having a relationship. From the curiosity during an initial conversation to the irritations that arise when you don't understand each other well. Not receiving the answer you were hoping for? Then try asking the question differently. Be as specific as possible and avoid vague wording. Only then will you build a stable relationship where you really appreciate each other. In this blog we take you into the fascinating world of ChatGPT and give you tips, tricks and prompts to make your love story a success. And let's face it: who wouldn't want that on Valentine's Day!

Start with a good prompt

ChatGPT is known for its ability to produce relevant text that is often barely distinguishable from human written text. However, there are still some snags in producing these texts. Good results depend on good prompts. A prompt is the instruction you give to ChatGPT to let it perform a specific task or generate a certain type of text. Below we list some of these prompts (read: "relationship advice").

Prompt 1: Be clear

A good prompt should be clear and specific. The more clearly you phrase the prompt, the better Chat will be able to give you a desired answer. For example, the question "What are effective e-mail techniques?" does not provide enough direction. A better question would be, "What are effective e-mail techniques to increase customer engagement for a local school?”. The second prompt states the target audience, the goal and the means. The more clearly you write the prompt, the more useful the answer will become.

Prompt 2: Outline the context

Our friend Chat can only really shine when it understands the context of the conversation. Adding this context to your prompt can help you get more relevant answers. Prompts such as, "Write an email for the new product launch" leave plenty of room for interpretation. You can eliminate this by asking, for example, "We will soon launch a new collection of summer clothing. Write a catchy email informing our customers about the launch, inviting them to come discover the new collection in stores.” You'll find that this email to be much more in line with your needs.

Prompt 3: Steer the conversation

It is important to keep anticipating and sometimes steer the conversation with Chat a bit. For example, you can add certain words or phrases to improve the quality of the generated text. When you ask Chat to write a social media post promoting a product, you can add to the question with: "We want the post to create a sense of urgency and encourage followers on Instagram to check out this special offer. Write a powerful post that encourages followers to take action." As a bonus, you can insert an example (even by URL) and ask that the text be formatted in the same tone-of-voice. Handy!

Prompt 4. Experiment and Learn

We'll close with a tip that you've actually been implementing all your life: experiment and learn! Get started with Chat and learn from previous interactions. You'll find that you become more and more adept at connecting and you'll naturally figure out what works and doesn't work for you. Try out different prompts and compare the results. Once you've discovered a prompt that works well? Make a pattern out of this so you are well prepared next time. By experimenting, you can discover which approach works best for your specific goals.

The value of prompts

It's safe to say that using effective prompts is crucial to getting high-quality and relevant results. By outlining clear frameworks and adding context, you can use the full potential of Chat to produce content. Remember, developments in AI are moving at lightning speed. What seems super effective today may be obsolete by next week. If you want to make the most of it, above all, keep experimenting and learning! That way, you'll get to know each other better and better and continue to take advantage of all the benefits Chat has to offer. And maybe, just maybe.. The tool will write you a Valentine's poem next year!
